Ingredients

  • 1 cup beer
  • 1 package dry yeast
  • 1 - egg (beaten)
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 31/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon butter

How To Make beer bread

  • Step 1
    Heat beer in saucepan til lukewarm. Put into large mixing bowl.Sprinkle dry yeast on top.Let stand 5 minutes.Add egg, bn sugar, and salt and 1/2 the flour. Beat til smooth. Add remaining flour til you have soft dough. Knead 10 minutes. Put in buttered bowl and cover. Let rise til double. Punch down. Shape into loaf and put in bread pan. Let rise a second time. (til double) Bake at 375 degrees for 35-40 minutes.Butter with brush immediately and cool on rack.
