Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
- 2/3 cup whole-wheat flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice or cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 - large egg whites
- 1 - large egg lightly beaten
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup mashed ripe banana
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts

Step 1PRE HEAT LIGHTLY GREASED WAFFLE IRON. IN LARGE BOWL, STIR TOGETHER THE FLOURS, BAKING POWDER, ALLSPICE, AND SALT. IN A MEDIUM BOWL, COMBINE EGG WHITES, EGG, MILK, BANANA, OIL AND NUTS. ADD TO THE FLOUR MIXTURE ALL AT ONCE AND STIR UNTIL JUST COMBINED.

Step 2USEING 1 TO 1-1/4 CUPS OF BATTER FOR EACH WAFFLE, POUR THE BATTER INTO THE GRIDS. CLOSE LID QUICKLY; DO NOT OPEN DURING BAKING. FOLLOW YOUR IRONS DIRECTIONS FOR BAKING; REMOVE WITH A FORK. IF BATTER BECOMES TO THICK, THIN WITH A LITTLE MILK.
