Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk, whole
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 12 vienna bread slices, toasted
  • 8 apples, peeled, cored, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons candied orange peel, chopped fine
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • bread crumbs

How To Make babka z bulki i jablek (bread and apple baba)

  • Step 1
    Beat the milk with the eggs and sugar. Dip each toast and place on a platter. Pour over the rest of the milk mixture. Sprinkle the apples with orange peel, vanilla and sugar. Butter a baking dish and dust with the bread crumbs. Arrange the ingredients in 3 layers, starting and ending with toast in the baking dish. Bake in a hot (400F) oven for 40 minutes
  • Step 2
    Baba Pan: Mark says take 3 large loaf pans, side by side, without the sides to equal a Baba Pan. I asked about a 9x13, he said as long as the sides were higher than 1-2" it would be acceptable.
