Ingredients
- 3/4 cup yellow corn meal
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 - egg, beaten
- 2 tablespoons shortening (melted)

Step 1Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Grease an 8 in. square pan.

Step 2In a large bowl, mix together all the ingredients until just moistened. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
