Our Amish friends bring this to us all the time, so good!

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup yellow corn meal
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 - egg, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons shortening (melted)

How To Make amish sour cream corn bread

  • Step 1
    Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Grease an 8 in. square pan.
  • Step 2
    In a large bowl, mix together all the ingredients until just moistened. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
