al's from scratch cornbread

Al's mother made this for her family and all the kids loved it. It is so good with a boiled dinner or just by itself with some butter and honey .

Ingredients
- 2 cups self-rising corn meal
- 2 - eggs
- 1/2 can creamed corn (7 oz.)
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
How To Make al's from scratch cornbread

Step 1In a large bowl mix the cornmeal, two eggs and all the ingredients except the buttermilk.

Step 2Slowly add the buttermilk until the batter is a consistency of cake batter.

Step 3Pour in a cast iron skillet (if you have one) and bake at 475 degrees for 30 minutes.
