Ingredients

  • 1 c
    corn meal
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    milk
  • 2 medium
    eggs
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1/2 c
    butter, room temperature
  • 1 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/3 c
    cake flour
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp
    baking powder

How to Make Corn bread

Step-by-Step

  1. Set Oven to 350.
    Cream Butter and add sugar.
  2. Mix corn meal, milk, eggs and vanilla together in a bowl. Sift Flours, baking powder and salt in a separate bowl
  3. Add dry ingredients to the creamed butter mixture alternately with wet mixture in thirds till just blended. Spoon into foil cupcake cups. You can also butter a 8in square pan. bake for 30 min in cupcake form and 45 min in pan form.
  4. High Altitudes you may want to add an extra egg and bake at 400.
