Ingredients
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 C cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup warm water (105-115 degrees)
- 2 packages dry yeast
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 4 - 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
How To Make sweet & fluffy dinner rolls
-
Step 1Bring milk to a boil and remove from heat immediately. Add butter, salt, and sugar. Mix in well. Set aside to cool to lukewarm.
-
Step 2Mix warm water and yeast. Mix until yeast dissolves. Add milk mixture and beaten egg. Mix until smooth. Add half of the flour. Mix until smooth then add remaining flour.
-
Step 3Turn out on a floured surface. Knead until smooth and elastic, about 5 minutes.
-
Step 4Place the dough into a buttered bowl. Cover and let rise for 1 1/2 hours in a warm place. I use the microwave. It's small and there are no drafts.
-
Step 5Punch down the dough and shape it into 12 even balls. Place in a buttered baking pan. Cover and let rise an hour.
-
Step 6Bake at 375 F until nicely browned, about 15 minutes.
-
Step 7Brush with melted butter immediately and let rest for 5 minutes.
