This is one of my favorite fall treats. It is great for breakfast, as a dessert and aslo as a snack with coffee.

    eggs, beaten
  • 1 c
    vegetable oil
  • 16 oz
    pumpkin, canned or cooked
  • 3 1/2 c
  • 2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 2 tsp
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 tsp
  • 1 tsp
  • 1 tsp
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 2/3 c

How to Make Pumpkin Bread


  1. Cream Sugar and oil together. Add eggs and pumpkin. Mix well.
  2. Sift dry ingredients together. Add them alternating with water (a little at a time) to the pumpkin mixture.
  3. Grease and flour 2 9x5 inch loaf pans. Pour the batter into the pans.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees until done, about 1 1/2 hours. A toothpick inserted into the middle should come out clean.
  5. Let stand 10 minutes. Remove from pans and cool on a wire rack,
