our favorite banana bread
This has been a family favorite for a while. I used to make it all the time when the kids were little- there were always over ripe bananas they wouldn't eat. So waste not! Seems to be gone before it's even cooled.

Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
- 1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 4/3 teaspoons salt
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup shortening
- 2 - eggs
- 3-4 - bananas mashed
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts or chocolate chips
How To Make our favorite banana bread

Step 1In a small mixing bowl stir together the first 4 ingredients. Set aside

Step 2In a large mixing bowl beat sugar and shortening. Add eggs one at a time. Mix after each egg. Add milk and mashed bananas. Mix well.

Step 3Pour flour mixture gradually into the large mixing bowl of creamed ingredients in step 2. Beat until smooth. Fold in nuts or chocolate chips

Step 4Pour batter into a greased bread pan. Bake at 350 for 60-65 min. Check the center by sticking a tooth pick in and if it comes out clean, it's done!
