This was my maternal grandmother's recipe. It is always a big hit. I share it often with friends. The "secret" topping is popular.

Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups sugar
- 3/4 cup butter
- 4 large eggs
- 6 tablespoons sour cream
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons real vanilla
- 4 cups flour
- 6-7 large ripe, mashed banans -mushier the better
- - brown sugar for topping
How To Make gramma's banana bread

Step 1Cream together sugar, eggs and butter.

Step 2Add rest of the ingredients (except the brown sugar) - bananas last.

Step 3Grease bottom only of 3 loaf pans.

Step 4Pour batter into the loaf pans. Press brown sugar into batter.

Step 5Bake 325° for 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes.
