Using frozen bread dough makes these yummy cinnamon rolls a cinch to make. All my guys love them as does every one else. You can add a cream cheese frosting if you like or leave plain.

prep time 7 Hr
cook time 20 Min
method Bake
yield 10-12 serving(s)

Ingredients

  • 1 - loaf frozen bread dough, thawed
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons ground cinnamon or to taste
  • 1/2 stick softened butter
  • 4 ounces softened cream cheese
  • 1/2 stick softened butter
  • 1/2 pound powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon orange or lemon juice

How To Make easy cinnamon rolls

  • Step 1
Roll out thawed bread dough on a floured surface into a rectangle shape. The thinner you roll out the dough the larger your rectangle.
  • Step 2
Spread 1/2 stick softened butter over entire surface of rolled dough. Mix together brown sugar and cinnamon (to taste) and cover entire surface of dough rectangle with this mixture - I like a thick mixture.
  • Step 3
Starting at long end roll tightly jelly roll style ending with seam on bottom. Cut into 1 inch slices using a serrated knife. Place slices barely touching on a greased baking sheet. Place on top of stove and let sit 20-30 minutes until dough has risen. Bake in preheated 350* oven for 15-20 mins or until golden brown and dough feels cooked to the touch. Remove and let cool slightly in pan before frosting with cream cheese icing if desired
  • Step 4
Cream cheese icing: Mix cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla and juice in mixing bowl. Blend with electric beaters until well mixed and creamy. Frost cinnamon rolls. Enjoy!
