This makes a nice moist loaf. Add 1 cup of chocolate chips or raisins to change it up a bit... Special note: All ovens are different and may vary in cooking times...

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 - eggs, room temp.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 - bananas, med size, mashed
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

How To Make banana bread

  • Step 1
    Pre heat oven to 325 degrees. Spray loaf pans with non stick spray.
  • Step 2
    Sift flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Set aside.
  • Step 3
    In another bowl cream butter gradually adding the sugar and eggs one at a time.
  • Step 4
    Add vanilla, mashed bananas and sour cream.
  • Step 5
    Blend 1/3 of dry ingredients into the mashed banana mixture at a time. Put in bread pans and smooth tops with a spoon. Bake on center rack for 1 hr and 10 min.
