This is another recipe I am copying from a recipe card written by my grandmother. At the top is says "for Mary Ann". I remember such good times at her house visiting and having yummy things like this for coffee.

Ingredients

  • - preheat oven to 325 and grease a 15 x 10 sheet cake pan.
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cans 8 oz. crushed pineapple
  • 1 cup chopped nuts, your choice
  • FROSTING
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 package 8 oz. cream cheese
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

How To Make 2 by 2 bars

  • Step 1
    Place first 7 ingredients into a bowl of a mixer and mix well.
  • Step 2
    Blend in nuts.
  • Step 3
    Pour batter into prepared pan.
  • Step 4
    Bake at 325 for about 25 to 30 minutes until done.
  • Step 5
    Remove from oven and cool.
  • Step 6
    Mix frosting ingredients together and beat until smooth and fluffy. Frost cooled bars.
  • Step 7
    Cut into desired squares and serve.
