This is an automatic bread maker recipe.
The bread is my son's favourite.
It is great for sandwiches, toast, and bread pudding.

How to Make Doug's Favourite Honey Nut Oatmeal Bread

Step-by-Step

  • 1Put ingredients except walnuts in breadmaker according to the manufacturers instructions. This makes a 1 1/2 lb loaf. Use whole wheat setting.
  • 2At the beep add the walnuts.
  • 3After baking remove from pan and cool before slicing.
  • 4Note:I usually use the dough cycle and form the bread into one medium loaf and a couple of little loaves. Let them rise until doubled in size (about 30 - 40 minutes). Then bake them in the oven at 375 degrees F. for 45 minutes for the larger loaf and 30 minutes for the little ones. I prefer to test them with an instant-read thermometer.
Internal temperature should be 200 degrees F.
