SMOKED PORK N COLESLAW FOR DINNER. SO I THOUGHT MY CHEEZY SKILLET CORNBREAD WOULD B A NICE SIDE TO COMPLIMENT THIS MEAL N THIS CORNBREAD WOULD COMPLIMENT ANY DISH....DELICIOUS :)

  • 2/3 cup cornmeal
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons bakn powdr
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon blk pepper
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1 can corn, 15 oz ...draind
  • 1 can chopd green chilis, draind 4 oz
  • 1/4 cup red pepper, finely chopd
  • 1 teaspoon onion powdr
  • 1 cup monterey jack cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup cheddar, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons veg. oil...plus extra to wipe in pan
  • 1 large egg, lightly beatn
  • - honey for drizzln

How To Make cheezy skillet cornbread

  • Step 1
    PREHEAT OVEN TO 400....USE VEG OIL N GREASE A LARGE CAST IRON SKILLET...N PLACE IN OVEN TO HEAT UP.
  • Step 2
    IN A LARGE BOWL COMBINE FLOUR, CORNMEAL, SUGAR, BAKN POWDR , S n P.
  • Step 3
    COMBINE BUTTERMILK WITH REMAINN INGREDIENTS.....MAKE A WELL IN BOWL WITH DRY INGREDIENTS...POUR WET INTO DRY n STIR JUST UNTIL MOISTND.
  • Step 4
    POUR BATTER INTO HOT SKILLET N BAKE FOR 25-30 MINUTES OR UNTIL GOLDN BROWN :) DRIZZLE WITH HONEY...OPTIONAL ....BUT DELICIOUS ;)
