Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon each dry mustard and salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 cup shredded reduced fat sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/4 cups buttermilk
  • 2 - egg whites
  • 1 tablespoon butter or margarine, melted
  • 2 tablespoons minced onions

How To Make cheese bread

  • Step 1
    Preheat over to 325.
  • Step 2
    Combine flour and next 7 ingredients in a large bowl. Set aside.
  • Step 3
    In a small bowl, beat together buttermilk, egg whites, butter and onions using a whisk.
  • Step 4
    Add buttermilk mixture to flour mixture, stirring just until moistened.
  • Step 5
    Spray an 8x4" loaf pan with non stick spray. Pour batter into pan. Bake for 45 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan for 10 minutes before serving. Serve warm.
