2 cmasarepa cornmeal
1 1/4 cwarm water
1/2 cmilk or buttermilk
4 Tbspbutter, melted
How to Make Venezuelan Arepas
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Mix all ingredients until smooth. Let sit 5-10 minutes so cornmeal absorbs liquid.
- Form into 8-10 disks, about 3" in diameter. Repair small cracks in edges. If there are too many cracks, knead in some more liquid.
- Lightly grease heavy skillet and cook arepas in batches until brown on each side, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Place on cookie sheet and bake 8-10 minutes.
