My husband and I love Mexican food but I don't care for the store bought flour tortillas as they are too thick. We often eat tortillas as bread with any meal,right off the grill and buttered,so good!

How to Make Steph's Flour Tortillas

Step-by-Step

  1. Mix flour,salt and baking powder.Add shortening,cut in until crumbly.Add warm water,mix into a ball. Knead,until the ball is smooth. Let sit 10-15 mins.
    Make several balls(whatever size you want the tortillas to be,roll out as thin as possible.Place on a hot griddle and cook about 30 secs on each side.Cover with a tea towel while cooking tortillas
