steph's flour tortillas
My husband and I love Mexican food but I don't care for the store bought flour tortillas as they are too thick. We often eat tortillas as bread with any meal,right off the grill and buttered,so good!

- - 2 c flour
- - 1/2 t. salt
- - 1/4 t. baking powder
- - 1/4 c vegetable shortening
- - 1/2 c warm water
How To Make steph's flour tortillas

Step 1Mix flour,salt and baking powder.Add shortening,cut in until crumbly.Add warm water,mix into a ball. Knead,until the ball is smooth. Let sit 10-15 mins. Make several balls(whatever size you want the tortillas to be,roll out as thin as possible.Place on a hot griddle and cook about 30 secs on each side.Cover with a tea towel while cooking tortillas
