2 3/4 call purpose flour
1 3/4 cgranulated sugar
2 tspbaking soda
1/2 cchopped nuts
1 tspvanilla extract
1 1/2 cof boiling water
1 cdates, chopped
How to Make Date Nut Bread My Mom's
- Preheat oven to 350 Degrees F.
Chop dates and put in bowl with the boiled water to soften for 15 minutes add the butter into the hot liquid.
- Beat egg add sugar then add the dates with the water and butter in when cooled enough and the dates are softened.
- Sift and mix the dry ingredients into this and add the vanilla and walnuts
Pour in one 9x5 inch bread pan or two 8x5 inch pans:
Bake @ 350 degrees F. for 1 hour check with toothpick in center.
