bread for bierocks

I needed a dough recipe for beirocks and this one works. I sometimes substitute 1/2 c. whole wheat flour for 1/2 c. white flour. I then add 1 tsp. gluten to the mix. This recipe can also be used for a simple loaf of bread. Use dough cycle, shape and bake in a loaf pan at 350 degrees F. for about 40 minutes until instant read thermometer reads 200 degrees F.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup room temperature milk
  • 1 - egg
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter or yellow flavoured crisco
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon yeast

  • Step 1
    Put ingredients in order suggested by breadmaker manufacturer. Set on dough cycle.
