almond cinnamon buns

I found this recipe in an magazine in the doctors office, looked so good I copied it down and tweaked it here and there to make it my own. I am always looking for new ideas.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup almonds, slivered(finely chopped)
  • 4 ounces almond paste(finaly mashed)
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup butter (softened)
  • 2 packages (8 oz.) cresent rolls
  • - cooking spray
  • 1 cup confectioners sugar
  • 1 teaspoon almond flavoring
  • 1 teaspoon whole milk

How To Make almond cinnamon buns

  • Step 1
    In a bowl add almonds,almond paste,brown sugar and cinnamon stir to combine. Set aside.
  • Step 2
    using parchment paper unroll 1 pkg, crescent-roll dough smooth seams
  • Step 3
    evenly spread half the butter over dough and then sprinkle with half the almond mixture.Beginning on long side roll up tightly.Slice into 6 pieces.
  • Step 4
    Repeat with second pkg. of crescent dough.
  • Step 5
    Spray two 6 cavity muffin tins, place a roll in each cavity and bake at 375 degree until golden brown bout 15 min,
  • Step 6
    Remove from oven and let cool 20 minutes.
  • Step 7
    Ina small bowl mix confectioners sugar almond flavoring, and milk till smooth.
  • Step 8
    Remove rolls from muffin tins drizzle with icing. Serve immediately.
