tina's scottish oat scones
I have been making these for years. Love the texture the oatmeal gives it. Hubs however doesn't care for the raisins.:-(

Ingredients
- 2/3 cup butter, melted
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1 - egg, beaten
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups regular oatmeal 1 1/4 cups if using quick oatmeal
- 1/3 cup white sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup raisins or currents
How To Make tina's scottish oat scones

Step 1Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Sift flour, sugar, Baking powder, Cr of tartar and salt.

Step 2Mix beaten egg and milk into melted butter

Step 3Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredient along with the raisins. Dough will be very soft and sticky.

Step 4Pour into the greased cookie sheet and form into an 8 inch circle. With knife cut into 8 pieces and with knife push the wedges apart on the cookie sheet. Sprinkle with additional sugar if desired. Bake 12- 15 minutes.
