You can also use this biscuit recipe to make steamed dumplings. Prepare as above then drop on top of bubbling soup, cover and steam about 10 minutes. You can also top casseroles or pot pies. Add biscuits to top of casserole or pot pie in the last 10 to 12 minutes of baking time.

Ingredients
- 3 cups flour
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 4 tablespoons canola oil or melted butter
- 1 cup buttermilk
How To Make quick buttermilk biscuits

Step 1Preheat oven to 400 After oven is heated preheat baking pan. Add small amount of oil or butter to melt. Remove from oven when butter is melted or when oil is hot. About 2 minutes.

Step 2In medium bowl add all dry ingredients. Mix well. Add buttermilk and oil. Stir until dough forms. Mixture may be lumpy. Do not ever stir.

Step 3For drop dumplings drop biscuits by heaping tablespoon into preheated and oiled baking pan.

Step 4For formed biscuits put dough onto floured surface. Knead about 10 times and roll out about 1 inch thick. Cut out biscuits. Place about 1 inch apart on preheated oiled baking pan and then turn biscuits over.

Step 5Bake about 10 minutes
