This fry bread is easy to make. Goes will with all kinds of soup, stews and my favorite macaroni and tomato juice.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups sifted flour
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons shortening
  • - enough milk to make it the consistency of biscuit dough

How To Make indian fry bread by janet

  • Step 1
    Sift flour with baking powder. Mix in shortening.
  • Step 2
    Add enough milk to make a dough the consistency of biscuits.
  • Step 3
    Kneed the dough well as for yeast bread, Divide dough in half and roll each to the size of a pie crust. It will be thicker than pie crust.
  • Step 4
    Cut each half into four pieces. Fry it in an iron skillet in hot melted fat, at least four inches deep.
