- Sift flour with baking powder. Mix in shortening.
- Add enough milk to make a dough the consistency of biscuits.
- Kneed the dough well as for yeast bread, Divide dough in half and roll each to the size of a pie crust. It will be thicker than pie crust.
- Cut each half into four pieces. Fry it in an iron skillet in hot melted fat, at least four inches deep.
