- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons shortening
- - enough milk to make it the consistency of biscuit dough

Step 1Sift flour with baking powder. Mix in shortening.

Step 2Add enough milk to make a dough the consistency of biscuits.

Step 3Kneed the dough well as for yeast bread, Divide dough in half and roll each to the size of a pie crust. It will be thicker than pie crust.

Step 4Cut each half into four pieces. Fry it in an iron skillet in hot melted fat, at least four inches deep.
