These delicious tender scones, are great, served with your favorite jams, honey or just plain old butter...they go great with a cup of coffee...I served them with stew today...to sop up the delicious gravy. Enjoy! My photos

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups ap flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • raw sugar - and extra cream for the tops - optional

How To Make cream scones

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 400 degree F. Spray a baking sheet with non stick cooking spray.
  • Step 2
    In a medium sized bowl. mix the flour, salt, baking powder, sugar.
  • Step 3
    Add 1 cup heavy cream, and stir until dough comes together. On a lightly floured surface, knead 3 - 4 times.
  • Step 4
    Pat out the dough to bout 1 inch thick.
  • Step 5
    Cut into 8 triangles, and place on baking sheet. I brushed the tops with more cream and sprinkled with Turbinado sugar. Completely up to you.
  • Step 6
    Bake for 15 minutes, or until no longer doughy and starting to turn golden around edges. Serve warm...they are delicious with jam, honey or butter.
