How to Make Angel Biscuits

  1. In a one cup measure pour in warm water. Stir in yeast and 1 Tbsp. of the sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, sift dry ingredients including the remaining 2 Tbsp. sugar together. Cut in shortening. Add the yeast mixture and butter milk and mix well.
  3. Since this makes a large batch, you can store it in the refrigerator for 7-10 days and pinch off amount needed.
  4. Pinch off amount needed, knead a few times and roll to about half an inch. Cut out biscuits and bake at 400 degrees for about 15 minutes or until golden brown.
