Ingredients

How to Make Maw's Buttermilk Biscuits

Step-by-Step

  1. Combine flour and shortening in mixing bowl. Cut in shortening until it looks like coarse meal. Stir in buttermilk.
    *Turn out on a floured board. Knead lightly 3-4 times.
  2. Roll 1/2 inch thick and cut with 2 1/2 inch cutter. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 450°F for 10-12 minutes. These are really good real butter too.
  3. Yields 10 biscuits.

    * Or make biscuits by rolling and shaping by hand!
