These are awesome, they go great with gravy, or dinner or breakfast sandwich, or just plain.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup shortenin or lard
  • 3/4-1 cup buttermilk

How To Make homemade buttermilk biscuits

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl and mix well. With a pastry Blender or fork cut in shortening till the mixture looks like coarse crumbles. Stirring with fork, add enough milk till mixture leaves the sides of the bowl and forms a soft moist dough.
  • Step 2
    On a floured surface, roll dough around till no longer sticky. Roll dough to 1/2 inch thickness, cut with biscuit cutter and put on ungreased cookie sheet
  • Step 3
    bake for about 10 minutes or till golden. brush with butter
