Floozie’s Mom’s Angel Yeast Biscuits

It's one of our favorite to make with a roast or chicken. My oldest son loves to pour gravy over them.
Ingredients

2 1/2 call purpose flour

1 tspbaking powder
-
1 tspsalt
-
1/4 csugar, i only use 1/8 cup unless i am add cinnamon or dried fruit

1 cbuttermilk
-
1/4 cwarm water
-
1 pkgdry yeast, i like to add 2 pkgs. as we like the yeast flavor

1/4 ccrisco shortening or butter flavored
How to Make Floozie’s Mom’s Angel Yeast Biscuits
- Dissolve the yeast in the 1/4 cup of warm water and set aside. Mix the dry ingredients cutting in the shortening as you usually do for bisquits. Stir in the buttermilk and yeast mixture. Blend thoroughly and the dough is ready to be rolled and cut into biscuits. Turn on floured board and knead lightly. Place cut biscuits on greased pan and let them slightly rise. Bake 400* until lightly brown....
- Optional..raisins, cut up dried fruit, chopped nuts, currants, cinnamon, cheese, diced ham or bacon.
