Creating your own treats at home, you will be able to provide your dog with a healthy snack that is not only nutritious but, is also free of unhealthy additives.

Ingredients

  • 1 - envelope dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup water, warm
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 10 ounces chicken or beef broth, warmed
  • 3 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 cup rye flour
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 2 cups finely crushed wheaties cereal
  • 1/2 cup dry milk powder
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 cup cooked, finely chopped chicken livers

How To Make doggie biskit treats

  • Step 1
    Dissolve yeast in warmed water with sugar.Stir once or twice; let stand 5 minutes.
  • Step 2
    Then add broth, mixing to combine.
  • Step 3
    In another bowl combine the the all-purpose flour, rye and wheat flours. Mix to combine.
  • Step 4
    Add the Wheaties,dry milk,salt, and chicken livers. Mix together, to throughly combine; adding only enough more flour to make soft that can be kneaded like bread-dough.
  • Step 5
    Roll out 1/2" thick and cut into bone shaped biscuits, or cut with cookie cutters or various shapes.
  • Step 6
    Bake on a lightly greased cookie sheets at 300 F degrees for 45-50 minutes, or until nicely dried.
