    salt
  • 2 c
    shortening
  • INGREDIENTS FOR MAKING BISCUITS

  • 2 c
    biscuit baking mix
  • 1/2 c
    half-and-half cream

How to Make Biscuit Baking Mix

Step-by-Step

  1. HOW TO MAKE THE BISCUIT MIX
  2. In a large bowl, mix the flour, baking powder and salt.
  3. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Store in an airtight container in a cool dry place or in the freezer for up to 8 months.
  5. HOW TO USE THE BISCUIT MIX
  6. In a small bowl, add biscuit baking mix and cream, stirring until just until moistened
  7. Turn onto a lightly floured surface; knead gently 10 times. Pat or roll out to 1/2-in. thickness; cut with a 2-1/2-in. biscuit cutter. (or just drop them on the pan)
  8. Place 2 in. apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 425° for 13-16 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm.
