This recipe was given to me by my friend Lynne. It was her Welsh grandmother's recipe. Her grandmother used to cook them on a bakingstone in Wales- hence the name.

Ingredients
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 2/3 cup shortening (not margarine)
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 - egg
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup raisins
How To Make bakestone cakes (welsh cakes)

Step 1Mix together, then roll out 1/3 inch thick and cut into round shapes. Cook on each side until done in electric frying pan (or griddle if you have one!) Enjoy!
