Ingredients
- 8-10 large roma tomatoes, seeded and chopped
- 2 tablespoons red onions, finely chopped
- 2 large cloves garlic, pressed
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
- 2 teaspoons red wine vinegar
- 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil, plus more to brush
- freshly ground black pepper, to taste (i always use mixed peppercorns)
- 1 small pinch ground himalayan sea salt, or to taste
- 1 - loaf french baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch thick
- high quality aged balsamic vinegar, to drizzle
How To Make italian style bruschetta

Step 1In a medium bowl, combine chopped tomatoes, red onion, garlic, basil, red wine vinegar, oil, black pepper and salt. Stir well and let the mixture sit at room temperature for 15 minutes.

Step 2Transfer to the refrigerator for 45 minutes.

Step 3Slice baguette and place on a baking sheet. Lightly brush side up with oil (one side only). Transfer under the broiler and toast for 2 to 3 minutes or until golden brown.

Step 4Remove from the heat and place the bread slices on a serving plate. Spoon tomato mixture over the slices and then drizzle with balsamic vinegar. Serve immediately.
