I have been searching for a good falafel recipe and this is it.. tweaked it a bit for more flavour.

1/4 c
minced red onion
1 Tbsp
dijon mustard
3 clove
1 tsp
ground cumin
1/2 tsp
1/4 tsp
ground black pepper
1/8 tsp
1 (15 1/2) can(s)
chick peas (garbanzo beans)
2 (1 oz) slice
bread, whole wheat
1 large
1 large
egg white
1 tsp
ground coriander
olive oil, extra virgin
whole wheat pitas

How to Make Crispy Falafels


  • 1Combine first 12 ingredients in a food processor; pulse 6 times or until well blended (mixture will be wet).
  • 2Heat olive oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Spoon about 1/3 cup chickpea mixture per patty into pan; cook 4 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
  • 3Warm up your pitas, you can spread them with hummus, tahinne or tzatziki. I like mine with hummus and loads of salad!
