This is such a great treat. I love hummus and avocados, so adding them together is a bonus. By using pine nuts instead of the tahini paste is a unique twist. this is great with raw vegetables or any kind pita chip. It is a favorite when you have company over, you may want to double the recipe because it will be gone quickly.

juice of 2 limes
1 can(s)
chick peas, drained and rinsed
1-2 small
cloves of garlic (if they are small 2, but if large 1 should be good unless you just want a litte more)
olive oil for consistency
3-4 Tbsp
plain yogurt
3/4 c
pine nuts, lightly toasted

How to Make Avocado Hummus


  • 1Cut avocado in half and remove pit. Toast pine nuts in a small pan with garlic. Scoop out the flesh and place it in a food processor or blender with chickpeas, lime juice, pine nuts, garlic, and a little olive oil. Process until smooth and creamy, adding more liquid if desired.
  • 2Chill for an hour. Serve with pita chips or raw vegetables.
