artichoke bacon dip (sallye)

A classic artichoke dip with my tweaks added. Easy to make and adds panache to a buffet appetizer table. My daughter serves capers and lemon slices with her rendition of this recipe. It will be a hit at your holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 can (14 oz) artichoke hearts
  • 1/2 medium onion
  • 1/2 cup duke's mayonnaise
  • 8 ounces ceam cheese, softened
  • 1 package dry buttermilk dressing mix
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/8 teaspoon each salt and pepper
  • 1 dash caynne pepper
  • 4 slices thick cut bacon

How To Make artichoke bacon dip (sallye)

  • Step 1
    Cook bacon until crisp and set aside.
  • Step 2
    Drain artichoke hearts and place in food processor. Peel 1/2 onion, cut into chunks and place in processor Pulse until finely diced.
  • Step 3
    Place mayonnaise, softened cream cheese, dressing mix, lemon juice, salt, pepper and cayenne pepper in mixing bowl. Using whisk or electric mixer, beat until well blended and smooth.
  • Step 4
    Crumble bacon and add to mixing bowl. Add artichoke/onion mixture to mixing bowl. Continue mixing until well blended (about a minute).
  • Step 5
    Cover bowl with plastic wrap and store in fridge for at least 2-3 hours (better if left overnight). Do not remove from fridge until ready to serve. Store any leftovers in airtight container in fridge.
  • Step 6
