    loaves italian bread
  • 1/2 c
    cooking oil
  • 1 stick
  • 1 c
    chopped onion
  • 1 c
    chopped bell pepper
  • 1/2 c
    chopped celery (optional if you like celery or not)
  • 1/2 c
    chopped green onion
  • 1 can(s)
    8oz tomato sauce
  • 3
    slightly beaten eggs
  • 1 c
    it. bread crumbs
  • 1/2 c
  • 1 lb
  • 2 pkg
    cheddar cheese, shredded...(all depends on the amount of cheese you would like to use)

How to Make Shrimp Bread


  1. Saute Onions,Pepper,Celery and Green Onions with the 1/2 cup oil and 1 stick butter,when veggies are almost done add the 8oz can of tomato sauce to the mixture and cook a couple minutes longer...
  2. In the meantime slightly beaten 3 eggs in bowl,add bread crumbs,water,and shrimp (i had large shrimp so i roughly diced them up a bit)...Slice the 2 loves of bread as you would for a sub and pull out the bread to leave a shell,(save that bread in a bowl on the side)
  3. Mix the saute veggies with the egg mixture and also the bread that you put aside when everything is mixed together fill each loaf of bread with your shrimp mixture and sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese,close the bread up and wrap with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes in 450 degree oven. let cool a couple minutes and slice in 1 inch thick slices.
