I have bought Hummus in the deli section of supermarket many times. This "homemade" variety is so much better. I prefer it with pita bread, whole wheat tortillas or served with crudites.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans chickpeas, rinsed & drained
  • 1/4 cup tahini sesame butter
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon cumin

How To Make hummus

  • Step 1
    Place all ingredients into a food processor (or blender) and process until very smooth. If too thick for your taste, add a little more water.
  • Step 2
    Refrigerate in air tight container for 7-10 days.
