My friend gave me this recipe over twenty years ago and I have made it often since then. This is a great crowd pleaser, but be careful, there will be no left overs!

1-1 1/2 lb
sheepherders bread
16 oz
cream cheese, room temperature
16 oz
sour cream
1 large
bottle of dried beef
1 bunch
chopped green onion

How to Make Fondue in a Loaf


  • 1Hollow out the loaf of sheepherders bread. Save the top of the loaf.
  • 2Rinse beef in water to remove excess salt. Drain well, then chop up beef.
  • 3Blend cream cheese, sour cream, green onion, and beef, mixing well.
  • 4Pour into the hollow out loaf of bread and put the top of the loaf back on. Cover with foil. Bake in a 350 oven for one hour. Serve with bread cubes, fresh veggies, or chips.
