My friend gave me this recipe over twenty years ago and I have made it often since then. This is a great crowd pleaser, but be careful, there will be no left overs!

Ingredients

  • 1-1 1/2 pounds sheepherders bread
  • 16 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
  • 16 ounces sour cream
  • 1 large bottle of dried beef
  • 1 bunch chopped green onion

How To Make fondue in a loaf

  • Step 1
    Hollow out the loaf of sheepherders bread. Save the top of the loaf.
  • Step 2
    Rinse beef in water to remove excess salt. Drain well, then chop up beef.
  • Step 3
    Blend cream cheese, sour cream, green onion, and beef, mixing well.
  • Step 4
    Pour into the hollow out loaf of bread and put the top of the loaf back on. Cover with foil. Bake in a 350 oven for one hour. Serve with bread cubes, fresh veggies, or chips.
