Ingredients

  • 1 lb
    lean ground pork
  • 1 c
    milk
  • 1 medium
    yellow onion, peeled and minced
  • 1 clove
    garlic, peeled and minced
  • ·
    salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 pinch
    ground cloves
  • 1 pinch
    ground allspice
  • 1/4 c
    dry bread crumbs

How to Make Cretons

Step-by-Step

  1. Place the ground pork, milk, onion and garlic into a large saucepan. Season with salt, pepper, cloves and allspice. Cook over medium heat for about 1 hour.
  2. Stir in the bread crumbs. Cook for 10 more minutes. Adjust seasonings to taste.
  3. Transfer to a small container and keep refrigerated. Use as a spread on toast points or crackers.
