I love to eat bite-sized food and often make what I call "snack-attizers" with a side dish for dinner. It's a nice change for something small instead of a heavy meal.

Blue Ribbon Recipe

These mini cheddar burgers are a fun appetizer. Adding a sprinkle of Montreal steak seasoning gives the ground beef burger a ton of flavor. You think these are a basic slider appetizer, but on each toothpick is a cheeseburger, caramelized onion, a piece of a baby portobello mushroom, and a cherry tomato half. The combination of flavors in each bite is tasty. Great for a party, a tailgate, or even a light dinner.

How To Make cheddar burger appetizers

  • Sauteeing mushrooms and onions.
In a 10-inch skillet, place Worcestershire sauce, mushrooms and onions. Saute until onions are translucent. Set aside and let cool.
  • Half a cherry tomato, mushroom, and onion slice on a toothpick.
On each toothpick, thread 1 half of the tomato, mushroom, and onion; set aside.
  • Ground beef formed into patties.
In a large mixing bowl, combine all other ingredients except for the cheese. Shape tablespoonfuls of mixture into meatballs and flatten slightly to resemble hamburgers.
  • Frying the burgers with a piece of cheese on top.
Using the same skillet as the onions, cook burgers over medium-high heat for 2-3 minutes on each side or until desired doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place cheese over each hamburger and let the cheese melt.
  • Toothpick with tomato placed into the cheeseburger.
Insert 1 toothpick with the tomato, mushroom, and onion in each burger. Serve warm.
