sweet & salty chèvre with raw honey
We had some friends from Washington, D.C. who came out to visit our small hobby farm near Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains. I wanted their visit to be special on every level... from the beauty around them, to the flavors of country-fresh. My goal was to impress them with a very special meal that included interesting and delicious appetizers. I ran across some recipes using goat cheese, and I combined a few of the ideas to make this delicious sweet and salty combination. Everyone loved it!

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup organic blueberries
- 1/2 cup organic raspberries
- 1/4 cup salted sunflower seeds
- 4 ounces organic goat cheese log
- 1/2 cup raw honey
- - crackers
How To Make sweet & salty chèvre with raw honey
-
Step 1Sprinkle the sunflower seeds onto a plate, and roll the goat cheese log over the seeds to coat cheese.
-
Step 2Place blueberries and raspberries around cheese in a colorful and attractive presentation.
-
Step 3Drizzle raw honey over the cheese log. The honey will run onto the plate and mingle with the berries. (If preparing ahead of time, do not drizzle the honey until ready to serve.)
-
Step 4Serve with crackers. Ensure that each bite contains a combination of all the delicious flavors on the plate!
