This is a recipe that I got from a friend's mom. It was taken out of a magazine many years ago. I have made and enjoyed this for a very long time and I have given out the recipes many times.

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces bulk pork sausage
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped celery
  • 1/4 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1 clove minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onion tops (scallions)
  • 1 package (3 oz) cream cheese (cubed)
  • 2 tablespoons minced parsley
  • 1 - tube crescent rolls
  • 1 - egg, lightly beaten

How To Make sausage brunch braid

  • Step 1
Over medium heat, cook sausage, onion, celery, green pepper and garlic until meat is no longer pink and veggies arre tender; drain. Add cream cheese, green onion and parsley. Cook over low heat until cheese is melted, set aside. Unroll crescent roll dough on a greased baking sheet; press perforations together. Roll into a 12 x 10 rectangle. Spoon sausage mixture to within 3 inches of each long side. Cut 3/4 " wide strips 3" into center. Starting at one end, fold alternating strips at an angle, forming a braid. Brush with egg. Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes.
