jalapeno bacon wonton poppers

Made these for staff meeting and they were an instant favorite. Quite spicy and I tweaked the original version by adding bacon to the mix. Great for those game time parties as well.
Blue Ribbon Recipe
These jalapeno popper wontons are so good, they all may be eaten by the time you finish frying. The outside is crisp while the inside filling is creamy and a flavor explosion. The cream cheese and Monterey jack cheese melt together and cool down the spicy jalapenos. Bacon is a delicious addition and gives a smoky, savory flavor to the poppers. A wonderful game day appetizer.

How To Make jalapeno bacon wonton poppers
Test Kitchen Tips
These wontons fry fast. We suggest preparing all the wontons before you start to fry them. Also, we dipped these in ranch dressing that cools down the spiciness too.
-
1In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, Monterey Jack cheese, bacon, jalapeno peppers, garlic, and green onions. (I usually prepare in advance to meld flavors.)
-
2Fill wonton wrappers with about 1 tablespoon cream cheese mixture each. Moisten edges with water and fold into a triangle shape, sealing edges. Make sure edges are sealed tight.
-
3In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Drop a few wontons into oil at a time and quickly fry, turning once.
-
4Remove when golden brown and drain on paper towels.
-
5Serve warm!
