Made these for staff meeting and they were an instant favorite. Quite spicy and I tweaked the original version by adding bacon to the mix. Great for those game time parties as well.

Adding bacon to the cream cheese mixture really steps up the filling flavor. You get a smokey flavor from the bacon and a bit of heat from the jalapeno - so good. Crunchy on the outside, creamy on the inside, these are sure to be a hit on game day! The Test Kitchen

How to Make Jalapeno-Bacon Wonton Poppers

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, Monterey Jack cheese, bacon, jalapeno peppers, garlic, and green onions. (I usually prepare in advance to meld flavors.)
  2. Fill wonton wrappers with about 1 teaspoon cream cheese mixture each. Moisten edges with water and fold into a triangle shape, sealing edges.
  3. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium high heat. Drop a few wontons into oil at a time and quickly fry, turning once. Remove when golden brown and drain on paper towels. Serve warm!
