fettucini a l'americaine
This recipe is a variation of a similar Italian one that I enhanced to my taste over the years from being in North Carolina.

Ingredients
- 1/2 package barilla fettucine pasta
- 1/2 cup salted butter
- 1/4 cup fresh grated asiago cheese
- 1/4 cup parmesan cheese
- 3/4 cup cream cheese
- 1/2 cup half and half
- 1 teaspoon white pepper
- 2 teaspoons salt
How To Make fettucini a l'americaine

Step 1Cook pasta according to the direction. I always cook mine all dente... In the meanwhile in a medium saucepan melt the butter over medium heat. Gradually add the cream cheese, half and half and parmesan cheese stirring slowly until blended.

Step 2Continue heating the sauce stirring constantly (I use a whisk)just until it reaches boiling point.

Step 3Remove from heat and add salt and pepper.

Step 4Toss hot pasta into the sauce. Sprinkle parsley on top if desired. Time to delight with my American variation.
