crisp caraway swiss twists

This came from taste of home and is so pretty to look at. It starts with a sheet of puff pastry. Every time I bring this cute little appetizer I am always asked for the recipe. The combo of caraway seeds, swiss cheese, and Dijon mustard in the flaky crust is irresistable.

Ingredients

  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 teaspoon country style dijon mustard
  • 3/4 cup swiss cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 2 teaspoons fresh parsley, minced
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons caraway seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 - sheet puff pastry

How To Make crisp caraway swiss twists

  • Step 1
    In a small bowl, beat egg, water, and mustard. Set aside.
  • Step 2
    In another bowl combine the cheese, onion, parsley , caraway seeds, and garlic salt
  • Step 3
    Unfold pastry sheet, brush with egg mixture.
  • Step 4
    Sprinkle cheese mixture over half of the pastry the long way.
  • Step 5
    Fold pastry over filling. Press edges to seal.
  • Step 6
    Brush top with remaining egg wash.
  • Step 7
    Cut widthwise into 1/2 inch strips.
  • Step 8
    Twist each strip several times.
  • Step 9
    place 1 inch apart on a greased baking sheet, pressing ends down.
  • Step 10
    Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven until golden brown, serve warm.
