Ingredients

  • - saltine crackers (appx 40)
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (more or less to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup crumbled crisp-cooked bacon
  • 1/4 cup toasted sunflower seeds

How To Make sweet and spicy cracker bark

  • Step 1
    Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil and spray with no-stick cooking spray.
  • Step 2
    Arrange saltines in a single layer covering the entire baking sheet.
  • Step 3
    In a medium saucepan, combine butter, brown sugar, cayenne, pumpkin pie spice, salt and pepper.
  • Step 4
    Stir to combine and bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  • Step 5
    Pour over crackers and spread to evenly cover all crackers.
  • Step 6
    Bake at 350 degrees until golden and bubbly, about 5 minutes.
  • Step 7
    Remove from oven, sprinkle with bacon and sunflower seeds.
  • Step 8
    Cool completely and break into bite-sized pieces.
