stuffed mushrooms

I've made these for over forty years now and everyone loves them. They are really easy and very tasty. If I have leftover filling I usually place around caps and bake with mushrooms. Hope you enjoy them, we do.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound bulk sausage, i usually mild
  • 1 pound mushrooms, whole
  • 2 - tbls of butter
  • 1 package mozarella cheese
  • 1 - sleeve of town house crackers

How To Make stuffed mushrooms

  • Step 1
    Clean mushrooms and dry. Cut off stems.
  • Step 2
    Cook stems in melted butter till brown.
  • Step 3
    Brown sausage until done and drain.
  • Step 4
    Place crackers into food processor and crush fine. Add cooked sausage and stems. Process until smooth.
  • Step 5
    Place caps on cookie sheet. Add sausage mixture.
  • Step 6
    Cut mozarella into strips to fit mushroom tops. Criss cross them. Bake in 350 degrees, for 20 minutes or until mushrooms are cooked.
