Pepperoni pizza flavor in a chilled dip. This is a recipe I came up with because I can't eat anything with free glutamates, and I missed eating pizza. Its yummy even if you can eat MSG - and you could add a diced tomato in with the sour cream. I use 1/2 of the 6 oz package of Hormel Turkey Pepperoni, which is MSG free in spite of "spices" listed in the ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 4 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
  • 2 ounces black olives
  • 16 ounces sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons pimentos
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 package pepperoni
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 teaspoon oregano

How To Make pizza dip

  • Step 1
Set aside a few olives, pepperoni, and small amount of cheddar to garnish the dip.
  • Step 2
Run olives, pepperoni, spices, cheddar, and pimentos through food processor until finely minced. Add softened cream cheese.
  • Step 3
In a large bowl, stir in sour cream. Spoon into serving dish and garnish with reserved ingredients. Serve chilled with toasted baguette slices.
  • Step 4
To make baguette slices: slice bread into 1/4" slices and bake on a greased pan at 375* F for 5-6 minutes, until just golden.
