I came up with this idea years ago from another recipe of mine. I like making toasted French bread type sandwiches and this one is always a hit with friends and family. I consider it an appetizer, so why not serve this up at your next party? Your guests will love it. Enjoy!

How To Make ~ cassies cheesy stroganoff bread ~

  • Step 1
Preheat oven to 375 degree F. Wrap cut loaf of bread in foil and bake for 15 minutes.
  • Step 2
In a large skillet, over medium heat - cook beef, onion, garlic and mushrooms if using, until meat is brown and veggies tender. Drain grease. Return to skillet.
  • Step 3
Stir in sour cream and mix bouillon with milk and stir in. Add salt, pepper, garlic powder, parsley and Worcestershire sauce, stir in well and heat just until warmed through.
  • Step 4
Remove bread halves from oven and spread butter evenly over the cut side of bread.
  • Step 5
Spread half meat mixture onto each halve of buttered bread. Divide and spread out the pepper slices between the two bread halves. Divide the cheddar cheese between the two bread halves and place in oven for about 10 minutes or until cheese is melted.
  • Step 6
Now, divide the mozzarella cheese between the two halves and return to oven for another 5 minutes or until melted. ( I sometimes broil at this point. ) Remove from oven, sprinkle with fresh parsley if desired and cut into serving sized slices.
  • Step 7
    Enjoy!
